On Feburary 16, 2006 Shane asked Jillian to marry him. Here is the story straight from the horses mouth
For the past 3 months I have been setting all of this up.
My plan was a photo story. Me and Jill setup Sunday to do V-day because
she had to work on the 14th. At 5:00 we left to go to III Forks,
halfway to the restaurant I mentioned I was low on gas and needed to
make a stop. I get out of the car and then find out that I "left" my
wallet at home. So we head back to her house and I reach under the car
seat and hand her a package. I told her to open this while I find my
wallet. The gift was a photo book. The first page had a sticky note that said "Read each page carefully".

The last page had a sticky note that said "find me inside....I have a pen and suprise"
After waiting inside for about 5 minutes I hear the door open, so I
wait for her. She comes up to me crying her eyes out and I hand her the
pen. I then get down on one knee and ask the question, she says yes. I
open the ring box and like a doofus hand her the box with the ring
exposed. She says "Don't you want to put it on my finger?" and I said
"Oh yeah, sorry". I couldn't help it, I was nervous and shaking the
whole time.
After that Jillian called all of her friends/family and we headed out to
eat. The whole night she couldn't keep her eyes off the ring, and she
even tried to bring the photo book into the restaurant.
